Adult Group Lessons

This class is suitable for adults of any age, whether you are just starting out.

Whether you are looking for a fun new way to stay active or aiming to develop competitive-level skills, HITTA’s Adult Group Lessons are designed to guide you from absolute beginner to advanced player. Structured around a progressive 24-month roadmap, these lessons combine holistic health benefits with professional, phased technical instruction.

The 360° Benefits of Table Tennis

Table tennis is often referred to as "Aerobic Chess" because it challenges both the body and the mind:

Physical Fitness: It provides a high-tempo, low-impact workout that burns 272–350 calories per hour. It is gentle on the joints while reducing cardiovascular disease risk by up to 56%.

Mental Sharpness: The sport stimulates multiple brain regions, enhancing strategic planning, memory, and reflexes, which can help delay cognitive decline.

Stress Relief & Community: Playing releases endorphins and lowers cortisol, reducing overall stress. The group lesson environment also fosters a strong social community, building confidence and interpersonal skills.

The 24-Month Roadmap to Mastery

Our curriculum is broken down into five distinct phases, ensuring you build a solid foundation before advancing to complex strategies. However, progression speed varies per individual based on training frequency and participation.

Phase 1: Laying the Foundation (Months 0–4)
Focuses on the absolute basics, including the proper shakehand grip, ready stance, in-out footwork, and fundamental forehand and backhand pushes.
Milestone: Consistently perform 14 consecutive pushes.

Phase 2: Building Consistency & Control (Months 3–8)
Introduces core attacking strokes (forehand and backhand drives) and side-to-side footwork. You will learn to link strokes smoothly in simple rallies.
Milestone: Achieve a 100-hit rally with a partner using basic drives.

Phase 3: Introducing Spin & Rally Skills (Months 9–12)
Dives into the essence of modern table tennis: spin. You will learn to execute forehand and backhand loops by "brushing" the ball, as well as basic spin serves and returns.
Milestone: Execute 14 consistent topspin loops and return spin serves with 60% accuracy.

Phase 4: Third-Ball Attack & Offensive Play (Months 13–18)
Shifts the focus to tactical sequences, specifically the "Third-Ball Attack" (serve, receive, attack). You will learn to handle short balls with a backhand flick, capitalize on high balls with smashes, and build mental resilience for continuous rally patterns.
Milestone: Successfully execute 5 third-ball attack sequences in drills.

Phase 5: Advanced Technique & Strategy (Months 13–24)
Master advanced competitive skills, including topspin counter-looping, dynamic diagonal/crossover footwork, and deceptive serves. This phase culminates in developing comprehensive matchplay strategy and tactical awareness.
